This customised very small home was built on a lot that is 180m2 and just 5.7m wide.

We designed a 63m2 home, which is mostly 3.5m wide except for a small entry area which touches the south boundary for just 2m thereby minimising neighbour disruption and meeting the clients preference for an essentially freestanding home.

The space includes a generous bedroom with a raked ceiling, a compact bathroom with double width shower, laundry and storage cupboard and a space for a study nook. The living/dining/kitchen area has 4.7m ceilings making the whole space feel light and airy. This space opens up to the garden via bifold doors onto a deck and pergola where native plants and a small veggie patch are settling well into the inner urban environment.

The client had clear ideas about how her small home would be decorated and has done a beautiful job making this small space a calm and serene refuge.
